In this video, Allison shows how to create a background for Power BI reports using PowerPoint. Using a color palette (if you need help choosing a color palette, refer to the previous episode in this series linked below) she shows how to make a few different styles of backgrounds in PowerPoint and shows how to save them so they can be uploaded to the CANVAS BACKGROUND of each page of the Power BI Report in the Power BI Desktop.
Creating a Power BI background in PowerPoint is a great way to create a visually appealing and professional presentation that is sure to impress. It can help to bring life to your data and ideas, and make them stand out. With the help of Power BI, you can easily create a backdrop of charts, visuals, and graphs that can be used to illustrate your point or story.
To create a Power BI background, you will need to open PowerPoint and then click on the ‘Insert’ option. From here, select ‘Power BI’ and then you can choose which charts, visuals, and graphs you would like to include. Once you have selected what you want to include, you can customize the look and feel of the background, such as the color scheme, font size, and background image. Once you are happy with the look and feel of the background, you can save it and then use it in your presentation.
Top Tip: save one PowerPoint file with a slide for each background style so all of your backgrounds will be stored in one central spot and it will be very easy to duplicate a slide and adjust as needed for each new report background.
