Join us for Day 3 of Microsoft Build 2024 Microsoft Build is for developers

Microsoft Build is for developers, by developers—be part of the next wave of developer innovation. Grow your skills in topics like building copilots, generative AI, securing applications, cloud platforms, low-code, and more.

Technology pure for developers, that’s the principle of the Microsoft Build conference. And it wouldn’t be Microsoft Build without a lot of exciting announcements this year. The focus was on topics such as artificial intelligence, analytics, and developer tools.

The newly introduced features include:

  • Extensions for GitHub Copilot: The new GitHub Copilot extensions allow you to customize your Copilot experience with popular services like Docker, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Teams, and MongoDB directly in GitHub Copilot Chat.
  • New Models for Azure AI: GPT-4o, the latest flagship model from OpenAI, is now available in Azure AI Studio and as an API. Additionally, Phi-3-vision was introduced, a new multimodal model from the family of small language models.
  • New Virtual Machines for AI Applications: Microsoft is now the first cloud provider to offer the AMD MI300X AI Accelerator Chip for demanding AI and HPC workloads. The new Azure ND MI300X v5 VM series are optimized for these tasks and offer impressive performance. Following the introduction of Azure Cobalt 100, a preview of new Cobalt 100 Arm-based virtual machines (VMs) was also showcased at Build.
  • Cognition AI: In collaboration with Cognition, Microsoft is launching the autonomous software agent Devin. Powered by Azure, Devin assists developers with complex tasks like code migration and modernization projects.
  • Microsoft Fabric: With the new Real-Time Intelligence within Microsoft Fabric, companies can analyze and organize large amounts of time-critical data.
  • The Evolution of Copilot: With Team Copilot, Microsoft extends the capabilities of Copilot to entire teams. This feature, integrated into tools like Teams, Loop, and Planner, can moderate meetings, take notes, and manage projects.

In addition to these announcements, many other innovations were demonstrated in more than 300 sessions and demos at Microsoft Build. You can find all the new features and improvements in the Book of News.
