In this video, Mitchell demonstrates how to use drillthrough capability on a card visual in Power BI.
Before September 2020, the drill-through was typically achieved by overlaying a drill-through button on the card. This involved creating a drill-through page and a visual to show details. Then on a new report page, a card was added, along with a button placed over it. The button's action was set to drill through to the Details page. This method required filter context, meaning you'd have to select something from another visual before drilling through the card.
From September 2020, the Power BI team enabled the Card visual to support drill-through natively. This new way requires a drill-through page and a card with the same field used in the drill-through page. Now, the drill-through process becomes a matter of right-clicking the card and selecting the page to drill through. This method doesn't require filter context for drill through, which is a big improvement.
