Power BI and Accessible is an exciting new initiative from Microsoft that seeks to make Power BI more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities. The project focuses on making the user experience of Power BI easier for all users, regardless of their disability or impairment.
This includes adding features to help users with visual impairments, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, language barriers, and other accessibility needs. So far they have added support for keyboard navigation in the Report view; improved color contrast settings; implemented a high-contrast theme option; created the ability to zoom in reports up to 400%; increased font sizes across reports; enabled text-to-speech capabilities within report visuals; improved tabbing behavior throughout the product; added support for screen readers such as Narrator and JAWS; integrated alt tags into visuals so that they can be read by assistive technologies like screen readers.
