New actions direct in the Microsoft search box

The "New actions direct in the Microsoft search box" appears to refer to the improved functionality of Microsoft Outlook's search box. Microsoft has repositioned the search box to the title bar, providing more vertical screen space. The box is now available in both the client apps and web apps for Microsoft 365/Office 365. If you click into the search box or use the keyboard shortcuts (CTRL+E and ALT+Q), a menu showing recent searches, people, and actions appears.

As you type in the search box, the menu filters down search terms, people, and actions to match what you type. The new feature doesn't just search through email, but everything in Outlook, including its functionality. For example, if you want to know how to move emails, typing "move" in the search box will display relevant commands. The interface for constructing your search has also been improved, with a simple search menu appearing when you click the arrow next to the search box. There is also an option to change the default search fields, and to search for things that aren't in the default fields by clicking "Add More Options"
