I am more than willing to expose all the mistakes I made when I started my
journey as a citizen developer – but only to help others to learn from them! One of my biggest mistakes was not using any kind of naming convention. I simply didn’t even realize such thing exists.
Naming conventions for Power Automate are guidelines for how to name flows, connections and other components within the product. These conventions help to keep your environment organized and make it easier to identify which elements of your solution are associated with one another. Common naming conventions include using a prefix or suffix on flow names that indicate their purpose, such as “IN” for incoming data flows or “OUT” for outgoing data flows; using consistent abbreviations across all elements of the solution; and adding descriptive words into flow names so they can be easily identified by anyone looking at them.
