Microsoft has launched an AI-powered assistant called Copilot that can help users to generate documents, emails and presentations, among other things. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 language model, Copilot will sit in the sidebar of Microsoft 365 apps, allowing users to summon it to provide text in documents, help use features in Excel such as PivotTables, and create PowerPoint presentations.
It can also help prepare users for Microsoft Teams meetings, transcribe meetings and summarise email threads. Copilot will be tested with 20 customers initially, with plans to expand the preview in the coming months.
