This noteworthy YouTube video by Daniel Anderson [MVP] explores how you can set up a Microsoft Loop Page precisely the way you want and then replicate it. This helps to save time as well as ensures you begin every task from the same foundation.

The video highlights that Microsoft Loop is a recent addition to Microsoft 365, designed to promote interactivity. The Loop components make it easier to work as a team on tasks, tables, or notes in a chat, email, or document.

Microsoft 365 was built with the intention of encouraging collaborations. It is possible to work together on Word or Excel documents, manage projects in Planner and share notes in OneNote. However, Loop adds an intriguing aspect to this. It allows you to craft interactive components and collaborate in real time using your preferred Microsoft 365 app.

Loop encompasses three elements: Loop Components, Loop Pages, and Loop Workspaces. Loop Components are accessible in Microsoft Teams, Whiteboard, and Outlook for now. They offer basic tools that will be available in Microsoft Loop. The Loop pages are available for testing in Public Preview. They will likely be launched by the end of the year alongside Loop Workspaces.

Loop workspaces are places where you can shape spaces (projects) for your team, housing all your files, content, and ideas for a project. They can be used in Teams, Outlook, or even OneNote to make collaboration easier.

A while later in 2023, they plan to roll out the feature that allows creating components from within Whiteboard.

  • Loop components are a standout feature in Teams and can be added in real time.
  • They can also be included in Outlook Online and the desktop app while the participants can update the component without the need to reply to the email.
  • Loop components can also be embedded into a Calendar event - this can allow collaboration and interacting with the same during a meeting.

The Loop App is currently in the public review stage, and it allows you to test out an initial release version of the app. The Loop App isn’t enabled by default, so you might need to enable it first for your organization. See further down in the article for a quick guide.

Loop App is essentially a collection of pages where you can add notes, ideas, images, and of course other loop components too. The pages can be grouped together allowing you to create different projects or categories.

Enabling and Disabling Microsoft Loop

It's noteworthy that Microsoft Loop is enabled by default for all tenants. However, you can deactivate it in your tenant through PowerShell. Loop App, is available for public preview and isn't enabled by default in Microsoft 365.

To enable it, the IT administrator will need to create a cloud policy, and after the creation of the policy, it can take up to 24 hours before the policy becomes effective.

Final Remarks

Microsoft Loop introduces yet another innovative way of collaborating with your peers. It's an excellent tool for sharing an interactive task list with your team quickly. It can be utilized in various Microsoft 365 apps but is especially valuable inside Teams. Once Loop Workspace and Pages are launched later this year, it'll be interesting to observe how it influences the role of OneNote. Will OneNote still secure its place in the Microsoft 365 environment, or will Loop take over?

Learn about How to duplicate your Microsoft Loop Pages.

With Microsoft's new technology, Loop, it's now effortless to replicate your Loop Pages in lieu of custom template pages. Loop allows you to structure a Loop Page as per your preference, and then you can duplicate it, saving you time and ensuring a consistent base each time.

Before diving into the specifics, let's understand what Microsoft Loop is. Loop is a cutting-edge app introduced in Microsoft 365, equipped with interactive components. The Interactive components facilitate individuals to work collaboratively on to-do lists, tables, and notes through chats, emails, or documents. Microsoft first introduced it at the Microsoft Ignite event in 2021, and it's currently unfolding in Microsoft 365.

In the Microsoft 365 environment, collaboration on documents is fairly common and OneNotes can be shared as well. That said, keeping tasks uniform can be a problem since some people might prefer Outlook, while others might use OneNote or even Teams. This is precisely where Loop can prove beneficial. Loop enables the user to design Interactive Components that can be shared across various Microsoft 365 apps.

The Loop system comprises three parts:

  • Interactive Components
  • Loop Pages
  • Loop Workspaces

The Interactive Components are the first few fundamental components that will be accessible in Microsoft Loop. Lists, tables, paragraphs, or task lists can be added to an email or Teams chat, and the data will be stored in the author's OneDrive account. Loop Pages are flexible canvases where one can organize ideas, files, and other data in tandem with their team in real-time. Loop Workspaces, on the other hand, allow for the creation of spaces for your team. In these spaces, you can collect and organize project-related files, content, and ideas.

To add a Loop component in Teams, open a chat, select the component you wish to add, provide a title for the component, and perhaps some content, and then click on "Send."

The components are also functional in both Outlook Online and the Outlook desktop app. Adding a component to an email just involves clicking on the Loop component icon, selecting a component to add to the email, and sending it out. The recipients can read and edit the component without replying to the email.

Such components can also be added to calendar events in Outlook. After adding a Loop component to a Calendar event, the Loop component can be shared in a Team chat with colleagues for real-time additions to the discussion points in the meeting.

In conclusion, Microsoft Loop adds an additional layer of convenience to converse with your teammates. With its inevitable incorporation into the Microsoft 365 workspace, it promises a quicker and more efficient way to share interactive task lists with your team.
