to the ability to alter SharePoint search settings in modern SharePoint. There are a few ways to customize search results, and one of the things you can adjust is a Search Vertical. So in today’s post, I would like to explain what a Search Vertical is and how to configure Search Verticals on a SharePoint site.

A search vertical is a subset of search results you get when you search for
something in SharePoint. You know, when you search for something on Google and
get a bunch of results, you can filter them into different types by clicking on
different tabs available under the search box (i.e., News, Images, Videos, etc.)

Configuring search verticals on a SharePoint site is a way to customize the search experience for users. It allows you to create custom topics, or "verticals," that contain related content from all over your SharePoint site. By creating these verticals, you can make it easier for users to quickly find relevant information within any given topic.
To configure search verticals on a SharePoint site, start by selecting the desired scope in the Search Administration page of Central Administration. Then select “Create Vertical” and enter a name and description for your new vertical. You can then add rules that define which content should be included in the vertical – such as specific sites or libraries – and set any other parameters you want applied (like date range). Finally, save your changes and activate the new vertical so it will appear in user searches!
