As an AI-powered productivity tool, Copilot utilizes natural language processing and machine learning technology to understand user queries. Copilot for Dynamics 365 Sales – Dynamics 365 Talk

Microsoft's AI-powered productivity tool, Copilot, was announced in March and has been in preview for Dynamics 365 Sales since June. Copilot is designed to assist users across various Microsoft 365 applications, providing personalized recommendations and tips based on natural language processing and machine learning.

Installation and Enabling Copilot

To use Copilot in Dynamics 365 Sales, it needs to be installed from App Source and then enabled via the Sales Hub.


Copilot for Dynamics 365 Sales offers several features:

  • Suggested Email Replies: Just like in Viva Sales, Copilot provides users with suggested responses to email communication.

  • Opportunity Summaries and Catch-Up: Copilot Chat can provide a summary of an opportunity or a quick overview of any changes made to an opportunity within the last week. To generate complete opportunity summaries, certain fields in the opportunity table should be populated.

  • Contextual News: Using Bing, Copilot shows the latest information about an organization when users open an account, contact, or opportunity row.

  • Meeting Preparation: This feature gathers important information from emails and meeting notes related to an upcoming meeting and provides a summary of tasks to be accomplished before the meeting.

End-User Experience

When Copilot is enabled, users can access it by clicking the Copilot icon on the right. They can interact with Copilot and use it for opportunity summaries, getting the latest news, and preparing for meetings.

Compose Draft Email Replies

Copilot for Dynamics 365 Sales also helps users draft email messages. From the 'Compose' tab in Copilot, users can describe the email they want to create, and Copilot will draft it. The drafted email can then be edited before it's sent. 

Microsoft is gradually extending Copilot functionality to other business applications, including Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Customer Insights, Marketing and Sales, Viva Sales, Business Central, and Supply Chain Management.
