What does it take to be a Microsoft MVP?

I’m often asked about the wonderful Microsoft MVP program, and how you get to be an MVP. So, to give you an idea, I thought I’d produce this short video to share my own journey to the program, which consisted of:

• Attaining Microsoft Certifications
• Writing my first book
• Having the confidence to get involved in the tech community
• Starting to speak at user groups
• Contributing to the community in other ways
• Being nominated for the MVP program
• Being awarded as a Microsoft MVP

Now, you don’t all have to follow the same path that I did, and in this video, I describe a number of ways that you can share your passion for Microsoft technologies by joining the Microsoft Tech Community - and this should definitely be your starting point.

Becoming involved in the community is reward in itself. I promise, you will love it, and there are so many ways that you can contribute, and share your knowledge and passion. These include:
