Microsoft Teams and Snapchat have announced an integration of Snapchat Lenses for Teams, giving users access to 26 popular Lenses during meetings. Users can transform themselves into a cartoon character or add fun backgrounds to their video. The integration is made possible by Camera Kit, Snap's SDK that allows partners to leverage Snap's AR technology in their own applications and websites. This is Microsoft's second integration with Camera Kit. The company has also used Camera Kit to bring Snap AR into Flip, Microsoft's video learning platform. Snap says it's continuing to work closely with new partners to integrate Camera Kit into more popular apps and platforms.
Microsoft Teams is now integrating with Snapchat Lenses, allowing users to add augmented reality effects to their video calls. Over 20 of the most popular Snapchat Lenses will be available to Teams customers worldwide, providing an opportunity to express personality and build relationships with coworkers.
The integration is seamless and requires no additional downloads or apps, and is made possible by Snap’s Camera Kit. Augmented reality can bring livelier human interaction to meetings by capturing and processing information about our physical environment and overlaying it with virtual objects and information. With video calls making up 78% of positive memories in meetings, the integration of Snapchat Lenses could make meetings more memorable and entertaining.
Snapchat lenses are a feature within the Snapchat app that uses augmented reality (AR) technology to add animations and special effects to your selfies and videos.
With Snapchat lenses, you can change your appearance by adding filters to your face, such as animal ears, glasses, or a crown. You can also add special effects, like rainbows, bubbles, and other animations to your snaps.
Snapchat lenses work by using the front-facing camera on your device to track your facial movements and apply the effects in real-time. The lenses are constantly updated and rotated, so there are always new and fun effects to try out. You can access Snapchat lenses by swiping left or right on the camera screen until you see the lens you want to use.
