How to change or hide Team Site Navigation

Changing or hiding the navigation of a Team Site is a great way to customize your site and make it easier for users to find what they need. Depending on the platform you are using, there may be different ways of achieving this.
For example, if you are using SharePoint Online, one option is to use the global navigation settings in the Site Settings menu. Here you can choose whether to display top link bar items or not, as well as hide certain links from view. You can also create new tabs and add custom links that appear only when users click on them.
Another option available with SharePoint Online is creating multiple sites within your main team site, each with its own unique navigation structure. This allows users more flexibility in how they navigate around the site and access different areas without having to click through several menus first.
If you’re using an older version of SharePoint such as 2007 or 2010 then there are fewer options for changing or hiding team site navigation but still some possibilities exist by editing the CSS style sheets associated with your master page template files (masterpages). With these versions it’s also possible to edit individual pages directly in HTML code mode which can be used for further customization of team sites' navigations structures too
