Cold Storage Tier
A new option to utilize to optimize cloud spend with Azure Storage.
Cold storage tiers are data storage tiers used for archival and back-up purposes. These tiers are usually used for infrequently accessed data, such as long-term archives, backups, and offsite data. Cold storage tiers are designed to be much cheaper than traditional storage tiers, so they can be used for data that doesn’t need to be accessed often. Cold storage tiers often use technologies such as tape, optical media, cloud storage, and hard disk drives. These technologies are often chosen for their low cost, low power consumption, and large storage capacity.
