Teams Events: Webinars & Town Halls 2026

Key insights

• Microsoft Teams Events: A single, centralized app that brings webinars, town halls and custom events together.
Organizers use one creation flow and pick settings for audience size, interaction and production instead of choosing rigid event types.
• Settings-based model and templates: Configure capacity, registration, attendee interaction, presenter controls and captions for each event.
Use built-in templates or save your own for recurring events to speed up scheduling and keep consistency.
• Registration, moderated Q&A, polls and recordings: The Events app supports custom registration forms, attendee tracking, live Q&A and polls, plus event recordings and follow-up communication.
These tools help measure engagement and capture actionable data after the event.
• Scale and migration: Interactive webinars support up to 1,000 attendees under webinar policies, with town-hall or production options for larger broadcasts.
Note that Teams Live Events was retired on June 30, 2026; organizers should move to the Events app now.
• Scheduling & management: New "Discover & Manage" views make it easy to find, draft, publish and share events.
Events can be scheduled from shared and delegate mailboxes and include landing pages with Q&A and polls for attendees.
• Admin controls, analytics & licensing: IT admins retain webinar policies and can manage permissions, data residency and security settings.
Events include reporting and analytics for registration and attendance, and organizations should review Teams Enterprise and Teams Premium licensing changes when planning deployments.
