Microsoft starts testing dark mode for Paint app in Windows 11; offers seamless, customized user experience with theme-based settings and zoom improvements.

Windows 11 Microsoft Paint now with dark mode. Microsoft has finally started testing a new dark mode for its Paint app in Windows 11. The software giant originally teased a dark mode addition nearly two years ago and it’s now being tested in both Canary and Dev Channels for Windows Insiders.

Like most other apps in Windows 11 that support dark modes, Paint will automatically switch over based on your system theme or you can manually enable the dark mode in the new settings page inside Paint.

The update also enhances the zoom controls, offering more flexibility and precision, with the ability to customize zoom values and an option to fit the screen optimally according to the window size. Along with a more consistent Windows 11 design in the 'Image Properties' dialogues and the Paint app backdrop, the update brings accessibility and usability improvements, enhanced keyboard shortcut support, and better access key functionality.

Apart from the much-awaited dark mode, Windows 11 Paint is also receiving zoom improvements for a smoother user experience. These improvements are designed to provide more flexibility and control over the view of your content on the canvas.
