Direct Power Fx Dataverse actions provide a powerful new capability for Power Apps developers. This feature allows them to easily access and manipulate data stored in Dataverse, a data platform available within Microsoft’s Power Platform. By incorporating the new Power Fx 'Environment' language object, developers can now harness the rich data stored in Dataverse to create more advanced and dynamic applications. As a result, this preview feature promises to significantly improve development workflows and create enhanced user experiences within Power Apps.
We are excited to announce the preview feature of direct access to Dataverse actions in Power Fx formulas. Authors can now directly invoke a Dataverse action within a formula, thanks to the new Power Fx 'Environment' language object that can be added to their app. This allows authors to access the Dataverse action parameters, such as the entity name and primary key value, in order to perform create, update, delete, and read operations. Additionally, authors can use the Dataverse action in conjunction with other Power Fx features, such as the ability to call the action from a button, or to have the action executed on an expression or data change. This gives authors greater flexibility to create powerful and dynamic apps. In addition to the ability to call Dataverse actions, authors can also specify additional headers and body content for the request. This allows authors to leverage the full power of the Dataverse platform for their apps.
