Microsoft has announced the end of its classic stream service, which also affects the Live Events feature used by Yammer users. Instead of transitioning this feature to the new Stream on SharePoint, Microsoft has decided to consolidate Live Events functionality onto Teams.
This decision aligns with Microsoft’s goal of doing more with less. Although Live Events will be consolidated with Meetings, they will still be available in the foreseeable future. The article notes that while many people know how to execute a Live Event in Teams, it is less well-known how to do so in Yammer. The article concludes with a promise to update the information when the new experience goes live between late February and the end of March, with a focus on the eCDN encoder method and Teams Quickstart.
