Discover Power Apps Ideas innovative transition to Dynamics 365 Customer Service Community platform for seamless idea sharing.

The blog from Microsoft has made an important announcement regarding the future of the Power Apps Ideas forum. This digital space, well-known for propagating innovative suggestions, will be shifting to a more dynamic platform between November 15 and November 29, 2022. The aim of this transition is to improve accessibility and responsiveness, and to further integrate user-generated content into the product development cycle.

The new interface promises to provide a more streamlined experience to the users. Another noteworthy change is the introduction of a new voting management process. All ideas will be reviewed monthly, any recurring ideas grouped together, and the user clarified whenever required. Notably substantial ideas that receive upwards of 100 votes will then be filtered to the Power Apps product team for inspection, potentially integrating them into the product line.

Status changes for ideas will be handled distinctly. Newly submitted proposals are labeled ‘New’, while those garnering a minimum of 100 votes and are under review would be declared ‘In Review’. The concepts that the team agrees to actualize become ‘Planned’, and those already implemented are ‘Completed’. However, ideas turned down by the team would, quite straightforwardly, be assigned the status ‘Declined’.

To bridge this major shift, the platform will enter a "read-only" mode starting November 15. The users will be temporarily restricted to post any new ideas while the migration takes place. The platform is set to launch on November 29, and all information from the previous site will be available thereafter.

Microsoft appreciates the active participation from the community, eagerly anticipating the innovative ideas that this platform transition would kindle.

More on Platform Transition

Apart from the basics covered above, shifting to a dynamic portal opens avenues for more engaging user interactions. Newer platforms often provide more agile responses to user feedback, thereby rapidly integrating it into product enhancements. Such transitions also often bring a refreshed user interface, which can improve the overall user experience. Coupling this with a better idea management system, businesses can ensure users' novel insights are not missed, potentially leading towards a mutually beneficial technological progression.

The team behind Power Apps is all ears for the community's suggestions! An innovative procedure of voting and managing ideas is to be incorporated. Every month, our devoted community team will sort out all incoming suggestions. Any repeated ideas will be grouped for a more effortless search, and if needed, a clarification may be requested from the author. Top-tier ideas, that receive at least 100 upvotes, will get forwarded to the product team for scrutiny. Every planning cycle, this team will discuss Top-tier ideas, and decide if and when they can be integrated into the plan.

The progression of ideas will be updated as follows:

  • NEW: Recently submitted fresh ideas that haven’t been sorted out yet.
  • NEEDS VOTES: Sorted-out ideas that need at least 100 votes for the product team to review.
  • IN REVIEW: Ideas that have compiled at least 100 votes, and are currently being scrutinized by the product team for possible inclusion in the next release phase.
  • PLANNED: The team has devoted to fabricating the idea which has been incorporated into the release plans.
  • COMPLETED: The idea has been integrated into the product and has been launched!
  • DECLINED: The product team has decided not to incorporate the idea at this given time.

With this novel process, the Product Team will be more in tune with your creative ideas and include more of them into the product. How will this migration occur? On November 15, the platform will switch to “read-only” mode, temporarily disabling the ability to post new ideas whilst we transfer all current ideas to the new site.

Beginning November 29, we will launch the fresh site, enabling you to continue posting and sharing ideas. All ideas posted prior to November 15 will be revamped and made available on the new platform with their updated status. We express our heartfelt appreciation for your continued participation in our community and eagerly await your innovative ideas for the platform!
