The customer observed that the OneDrive client failed to start with the following notification

The customer experienced an issue where the OneDrive client failed to start and displayed a notification stating “Sorry, OneDrive can’t add your folder right now.” This resulted in a subpar user experience and impacted the value proposition of Microsoft 365. Although the user could access their OneDrive data from the browser, they could not synchronize content to their local machine. Investigation revealed that the customer had previously implemented a restriction using Set-

SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction to block synchronization from non-domain joined machines. This was a common practice when most devices were joined to on-premises Active Directory. The purpose was to restrict OneDrive synchronization to only known and approved on-premises domains for security reasons. To check if this setting is present in your environment, navigate to the SharePoint Admin Center, click Settings, then the relevant item.
