Based on https://forwardforever.com/

Let's say that a typical user session is on average 10 page views. In the old #PowerApps portals model where you paid for the page view capacity, a single package would have lasted for 10k monthly sessions.

In the #PowerPages model, we are now paying for anonymous users instead. The base package incluldes only 500 users. If we assume that no user returns to the site during the same month, that gives us 20x less capacity than the Portals model. When we take into account the difference in price, we get to a 15x price compared to the old page views model.

It's pretty obvious that Microsoft does not intend customers to use Power Pages for scenarios where there is no user login. The product value comes from quick access to personalized data for the external audience. You wouldn't want to develop a static content website on top of Power Platform.

Here's an example from the Forward Forever website (which runs on WordPress). Last month our site received 16k visits and 37k page views. If it would have been a Power Apps Portals site, one package of page views for €84.30 would have covered it. If it was a Power Pages site and we'd pay for each visit, the monthly bill would have been €2,022.40. That's 24 times more.

No, our blog content isn't ever going to move to Power Platform. It obviously isn't the intended use case of these products.
