Microsoft Teams has recently introduced a new feature, called spatial audio, which is now available in Public Preview. With this innovative feature, you can now experience a more natural and immersive sound in your meetings, taking your virtual communication to the next level.
Now in public preview: Spatial audio in Teams meetings - Microsoft Community Hub
Spatial audio brings a next-generation immersive soundscape to your Teams meetings, whether you are using a wired stereo headset or built-in stereo speakers. This advanced technology is designed to spatialize the voices of all attendees, making it feel like they are speaking from specific positions across the visual meeting stage in the Gallery view. As a result, you will feel more connected to the conversation and experience an enhanced sense of audio presence that mimics real-life interactions.
With spatial audio, conversations in Teams meetings become more natural, and you can more easily follow multiple people speaking together. This is particularly helpful in large meetings with many attendees, where it can be challenging to keep track of who is speaking. With spatial audio, attendees’ voices are placed in the virtual space, helping you to quickly identify who is speaking, and allowing for a more seamless conversation experience.
In summary, spatial audio is a game-changer for virtual meetings, offering a more natural and immersive audio experience that brings you closer to the action. Whether you’re participating in a large conference call or a small team meeting, spatial audio will help make your conversations more engaging, productive, and enjoyable.
Available to everyone in Public Preview channel.
The new Spatial audio feature is available to everyone using supported audio devices (wired stereo headset or built-in stereo speakers) on Windows and MacOS clients.
