Microsoft has launched a new green screen feature for Microsoft Teams that enhances the sharpness and clarity of virtual backgrounds during video calls. The feature is best used with a dedicated green screen but can also work with a plain green or clear background wall. However, the background must be flat and free of irregularities.
The green screen feature is available to everyone in the public preview channel of Microsoft Teams. To enable it, users must first apply a background effect in a Teams meeting and then select the color of the wall behind them or green if they have a dedicated green screen. The feature is only supported on Windows and macOS devices with Intel chips and is not currently available on AMD-powered laptops or Macs running M1 or M2 chips. The green screen feature will also disable any background blur and is not supported in Together Mode.
Please make sure that you have applied a background effect in Teams meeting before enabling the green screen effect and chosen the correct backdrop color so that the effect is applied correctly. Please also ensure you have a solid color screen or clean background wall behind you.
