Maximize meeting efficiency with Microsoft Teams new Collaborative Notes feature, allowing real-time agenda creation, note taking, and task generation.

Now in Public preview: Collaborative meeting notes in Teams meetings. We're excited to share that Microsoft Teams Public Preview users can now use collaborative meeting notes. Microsoft Teams is dedicated to offering features that make meetings more efficient. With Collaborative notes, meeting attendees can work together to create agendas, take notes, and generate action items.

Microsoft Teams has introduced a public preview of Collaborative meeting notes, a feature that enables meeting attendees to jointly create agendas, take notes, and generate action items. This feature uses Loop components to facilitate real-time collaboration on a chat message in Microsoft Teams. Notes and tasks are automatically synchronized across devices and with other Microsoft tools like To Do and Planner.

Users can schedule a meeting, add a recurring agenda, and then work on meeting notes during the meeting. If assigned a task, the user will receive an email notification and the task will automatically sync with Planner and To Do. The notes can be viewed across Microsoft 365 applications like Teams chats and Outlook, and are planned to be integrated with OneNote in the future.
However, the feature has some limitations.

External and guest participants cannot access meeting notes before or during the meeting, and users may encounter errors when joining large meetings or attending multiple task-inclusive meetings. Collaborative notes currently can't be used for channel meetings, Meet Now meetings, and 1:1 calls, and mobile clients are not supported yet.
The feature is available to members of the Teams Public Preview using the Windows, macOS, or web (Edge, Chrome) Teams client. IT admins need to set an update policy that turns on Show preview features to enable the Teams client for the Public Preview.
