Microsoft continues to enhance user interactions within Teams, particularly with the new feature allowing users to easily mute and unmute directly from the Windows taskbar.

We know there are times during a call when you need to switch to a different screen on your device. In the new Teams experience on Windows, thanks to your feedback, you can now check and see if your on mute right in the Windows taskbar. You can also easily mute and unmute yourself by clicking the mic icon.
How it works: You can mute and unmute your microphone during a call or meeting in interaction platforms from the Windows taskbar in one of two ways:

To unmute yourself in Microsoft Teams, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Spacebar on Windows or Option+Spacebar on Mac. Simply hold down these keys to speak and release them to return to a muted state. Additionally, ensure the 'Keyboard shortcut to unmute' toggle is activated in your settings before joining any calls or meetings.
In Microsoft Teams, when you are presenting and wish to mute or unmute, you can use the shortcuts Ctrl+Shift+M on Windows and Command+Shift+M on Mac to efficiently manage your microphone status.
To mute notifications for specific channels or the entire team in the Teams app on Windows, right-click on the desired channel or team name and choose "Mute." Additionally, you can mute notifications from individual chats by clicking the three dots next to the chat and selecting "Mute" from the options.
You can easily check your mute status on Microsoft Teams by observing the microphone icon located at the bottom of your screen. If this icon displays a slash through it, it indicates that you are currently muted.
