Microsoft’s Role in the Success of OpenAI

OpenAI, a company co-founded by Sam Altman, has partnered with Microsoft since 2019. Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI's project to build Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) with wide economic benefits. The partnership includes building Azure's AI supercomputing technologies, OpenAI running its services on Microsoft, and Microsoft being the preferred partner for OpenAI to commercialize its new AI technologies. This partnership has allowed OpenAI to seamlessly launch its products, including conversational AI and text-to-image modeling, using Microsoft's Azure AI infrastructure.
