Microsoft and OpenAI have announced a multi-year, multi-billion dollar investment in the third phase of their long-term partnership. The partnership will focus on accelerating AI breakthroughs to ensure these benefits are broadly shared with the world.
This includes increasing investments in the development and deployment of specialized supercomputing systems to accelerate OpenAI’s independent AI research, building out Azure’s leading AI infrastructure to help customers build and deploy AI applications on a global scale, deploying OpenAI’s models across Microsoft’s consumer and enterprise products, and introducing new categories of digital experiences built on OpenAI’s technology. Azure will also be the exclusive cloud provider for OpenAI’s workloads across research, products, and API services. The partnership is focused on responsible advancement of cutting-edge AI research and democratizing AI as a new technology platform.
