It feels like everything is getting more expensive, right? Well, at least Microsoft AI Builder is becoming cheaper to use.
Microsoft AI Builder is a cloud-based solution that allows users to quickly and easily build custom AI models without needing any expertise in coding. It provides tools for creating machine learning models, automating processes, and integrating with existing applications. Recently, Microsoft has announced that it will be lowering the prices of its AI Builder services to make them more accessible for businesses of all sizes.

The latest February 2023 version of the #AIBuilder rate card introduced new service credit consumption rates for the included capabilities. None of the rates have gone up, instead there's been huge reductions in price across the board.
For example, invoice processing is now 94% cheaper than it was before. #Microsoft had added the "$ equivalent price per operation" column into the licensing guide, to allow us to convert AI money into human money. The new price equals $0.016 per page, at list price.
Forms processing is 80% cheaper, receipt scanning went down 68%, you can do 10x more text analysis per buck. And so on.
Why the big drop in pricing? After all, MS has been increasing the Microsoft 365 subscription price and other licenses recently.
AI Builder is a #PowerPlatform service that brings the Azure Cognitive Services capabilities available to business users who are building no-code/low-code apps and automations. I have not noticed whether there's been changes in the Azure side pricing of equivalent services.
Perhaps there has been pressure to increase the adoption of AI Builder based service consumption in the BizApps team. Maybe customers have been comparing their options and found cheaper options through different services. Who knows.
Anyway, with the huge boost in interest towards leveraging AI in everyday business processes, this price reduction certainly won't hurt.”
