status message in Teams makes it easier for your colleagues to see that you

aren't available before they even message you.

Here's how to set it up.

To set an out of office status message in Microsoft Teams, follow these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the window.
  2. Click on "Set status message" from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the "Set status message" window, select "Out of office" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Enter the desired out of office message in the text box.
  5. . If you want to set a specific date range for your out of office status, click on the "Set date range" button and select the desired start and end dates.
  6. Click "Save" to set your out of office status message.

Your out of office status message will now be displayed to your teammates in Microsoft Teams. They will be able to see your status when they view your profile or when they receive a message from you.

Note: You can also set your out of office status message through Outlook by going to "File > Automatic Replies (Out of Office)" and following the prompts. This will set your out of office status message not only in Microsoft Teams, but also in Outlook and other Office applications.
