Microsoft is adding new policies to Request Files & Anyone links to better enable customers to configure sharing in their tenant to match their specific needs & scenarios.

With this change, customers who have chosen to disable Anyone links for OneDrive will now be able to enable Anyone links for just the Request Files feature.

Admins can now use the SharePoint Online Management Shell to enable the Request Files to feature even when Anyone Links are disabled at the tenant level. For more information visit:

  • Set-SPOTenant (OneDriveRequestFilesLinkEnabled)
  • Set-SPOSite (RequestFilesLinkEnabled)

Create a file request

With the file request feature in OneDrive, you can choose a folder where others can upload files using a link that you send them.

Disabling sharing option– what effect does it have on OneDrive
