Time to get to know the speaker. We've asked 5 questions!</h3><p>Today with the organizer of European Collaboration Summit and European Cloud Summit&#58; the famous Adis Jugo!</p><p><br></p><h3>Q1&#58; How long do you play guitar and whats your favorite song to play?</h3><p>I started learning and practicing guitar at the age of 6, which means I have been playing for 43 years now. It sounds scary even to me when I write it like this &#128522; Funny enough, there are two songs that I particularly enjoy playing for over 30 years now&#58; &quot;With or Without You&quot; by U2, and &quot;Me and Bobby McGee&quot;, which I first heard in Janis Joplin's version. I now have at least 8 different versions of that song in my music collection.</p><p><br></p><h3>Q2&#58; You're organizing two major Microsoft community events for the past 10 years, what drives you to continue making this contribution?</h3><p>The passion of the people around me! If you look at our community (Microsoft 365 community foremost, but also increasingly the Azure community), you will see so many passionate people who give so much. I thought, &quot;Let's channel that community passion and try to do something spectacular!&quot; The energy we receive from our attendees, speakers, and Microsoft people is truly the best reward anyone can have.</p><p><br></p><h3>Q3&#58; You've launched run.events at the start of this year. Could you explain what it is and who can benefit from using it?</h3><p>run.events has become the main focus of my day job in the past two years. I could tell you many stories of us trying different approaches and systems for running the CollabSummit and CloudSummit, from using various disconnected systems and dozens of Excel files for different event organization segments (ticketing, speakers and agenda management, sponsors management…) , to using &quot;integrated platforms&quot; made by companies who obviously never organized a single event, and who were asking for tens of thousands of euros in advance. We thought, &quot;This can't be the solution; there must be a better way! We know how to make software, and we know how to organize large events, so let’s do it.&quot;</p><p>We sat down and started sketching out how it should look and what it should do. Our team of eight developers has been working on it for two years now (we currently have over 600,000 lines of source code), and we have been organizing our own events with it since 2022. Our friends from the CollabDays community events network and some other partner events have also been using it for over a year now. It is for anyone who wants a professional &quot;operating system&quot; for running their events, with all event management processes covered, fairly priced through the ticket sales commission, and with no upfront costs. It is free, and it will forever be free, for free and community events.</p><p><br></p><h3>Q4&#58; As the 10th anniversary of the Collaboration Summit approaches, could you provide some details about any special promotions or activities that attendees can expect to see during the conference?</h3><p>I will just say that this will be the best CollabSummit yet (with 30 Microsoft speakers, for example, giving an indication of how awesome the content will be) and a birthday party that will be ongoing throughout the event. You will simply have to be there to see what we mean by that. And you will have a very strong feeling of FOMO if you don't &#128522;</p><p><br></p><h3>Q5&#58; What is the funniest / most interesting story that happened to you (as a organizer) at collabsummit in its 10 year history?</h3><p>That was when I first heard Fitz (Mike Fitzmaurice, VP North America at WEBCON), the living legend, singing &quot;O Sole Mio/It's now or never&quot;. It was in Zagreb, Croatia, back in 2016, and for the conference party, we had a local band playing, and they were really good. Fitz asked them if they would be so kind as to play &quot;O Sole Mio,&quot; and they did. He took the microphone and sang it just like Luciano Pavarotti!
