Essential Excel data entry shortcuts not many people know include:
- Filling in Sequential Data: To fill in sequential data like dates, times, or numbers, select the first two cells, click on the bottom right corner of the selection, and drag to the last cell.
- Filling in Data Across Rows or Columns: To fill in data across rows or columns, select the first cell and press Ctrl + R (for rows) or Ctrl + D (for columns).
- Copying Formulas: To quickly copy a formula to adjacent cells, select the cell with the formula, press Ctrl + C to copy, select the destination cell, and press Ctrl + R or Ctrl + D.
- Selecting Entire Worksheets: To select an entire worksheet, press Ctrl + A.
- Selecting Specific Cells: To quickly select a group of non-adjacent cells, press Ctrl and click on each cell you would like to select.
- Quickly Deleting Cells: To quickly delete a cell or group of cells, select the cell(s) and press Delete or Backspace.
- Selecting and Copying Formulas: To quickly select and copy a formula, press F2 and press Ctrl + C.
- Copying and Pasting Values: To quickly copy and paste values, press Ctrl + C to copy, select the destination cell, and press Alt + E + S + V.
- Copying and Pasting Formatting: To quickly copy and paste formatting, press Ctrl + C to copy, select the destination cell, and press Ctrl + Alt + V.
