Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23511 to the Dev channel. Alongside this, a Bug Bash is scheduled to commence on August 2nd, covering the latest features present in preview builds spanning the Canary, Dev, and Beta Channels. A single Windows Spotlight experience is rolling out for Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel, including features like full-screen image previews, information about each image, and a minimized experience. Users can enable the Windows Spotlight via desktop personalization settings or via Settings > Personalization > Background.
A new feature has been added to help with camera streaming issues. A pop-up dialogue will appear if a camera fails to start or if a camera shutter is closed, recommending the user to launch an automated troubleshooter.
The Windows Copilot Preview has temporarily been removed for AAD (soon to be Microsoft Entra ID) managed Dev Channel users. The feature can be temporarily enabled via Group Policy Editor, and it's expected to be back in a future flight with Bing Chat for Enterprise support.
AAD account users will now have a richer preview when hovering over files under "Recommended" on the Start menu. Thumbnails will not be available for all files initially, but an update will expand this feature. The Start menu also provides an option to quickly share cloud file recommendations.
Notifications will appear as a bell in the system tray, colorizing based on your system accent color when new notifications come in. The bell will be empty when there are no notifications. Notification counts are no longer shown.
