Tenant isolation allows administrators to control the connectors used in apps and flows, reducing the risk of data exfiltration outside of the tenant. This feature, available as of <strong>May 10, 2023, </strong>ensures safe and secure use within the tenant.&#160;<br></p><p>Tenant isolation provides administrators with the ability to restrict Azure Active Directory (AAD)-based connections both from and into their tenant via Power Platform applications and flows, covering all cross-cloud scenarios. Administrators can set specific exceptions, enabling certain tenants to connect in either or both directions, bypassing tenant isolation controls.&#160;<br></p><p>The feature enforces restrictions on Power Platform connections, without affecting cross-tenant access to services outside the Power Platform. This service is available through an intuitive interface in the Power Platform admin center and is a best practice that complements other controls like conditional access. Power Platform's tenant isolation function ensures secure use of these connectors within a tenant, reducing data exfiltration risks.<br></p><p>Tenant isolation specifically applies to Power Platform and doesn't affect Azure AD access outside of it. It's used for connectors using Azure AD-based authentication like Office 365 Outlook or SharePoint. There's a known issue with Azure DevOps connector where tenant isolation policy is not enforced, thus usage is advised to be limited to avoid insider threats.<br></p><p>By default, Power Platform allows cross-tenant connections if users provide valid Azure AD credentials. Admins can switch on tenant isolation to restrict all tenants from making cross-tenant connections. However, exceptions can be added through rules.<br></p><p>Tenant isolation allows admins to create an allowlist of tenants for inbound, outbound, or both types of connections. The &quot;*&quot; pattern can be used to permit all tenants in a specific direction when tenant isolation is on. Connections not included in the allowlist will be rejected by Power Platform.<br></p><p>The setting for tenant isolation is found in the Power Platform admin center and affects canvas apps and Power Automate flows. To set it up, one needs to be a tenant admin.
